Things I will Miss and Not-So-Much Miss About Pregnancy

I was thinking today how much I've really enjoyed being pregnant. I've had a lot more pleasant days than unpleasant days, so I really have a lot to be thankful for. With that said, I thought I'd write a list of things I will miss and not miss about this little miracle.

Things I will miss:
  • Lulu's movements; I will NEVER get tired of her twists, turns, kicks, rolls, jabs, pokes; they have been by far my favorite thing about being pregnant. Even the ones that are painful I just love.
  • Hiccups. I just love to sit and count her hiccups. She is so talented at hiccuping!
  • Compliments. People really love a pregnant lady and sometimes a pregnant lady does not feel so beautiful, so when someone tells me I'm beautiful, it brightens my day. I've said it before and I'll say it again; I'm a sucker for a compliment.
  • Belly rubbing. This can be weird when coming from a stranger, but luckily the majority of my belly rubs have come from people I know and love. I just LOVE when my husband rubs the baby bump (more like baby mountain these days). He does it like it's his second nature.
  • Unabashed eating. I've been eating healthy for the most part, but when I get hungry, I eat. I'm eating for two and I take that very seriously.
  • Hubs buying me icecream. Before he never gave in to my unhealthy cravings, but during the pregnancy he's softened up a bit and will buy me the occasional icecream. It's wonderful.
  • Maternity pants. I am a girl who likes simplicity and with these pants, you can't get any simpler. I haven't had to button my pants for the past 6 months now and it's been great. You just pull them up and go. The stretchy material is nice too. :)
  • Early bedtime. I've been fortunate enough lately to get myself in bed by 8pm, no joke. While I don't sleep through the night, it really helps to get in bed early.
  • Long, luxurious baths. I take a bath almost every night, especially this last month because my back has been hurting. I know that once my sweet girl comes, bath time will be mostly for her. :)
Here are the things I will not-so-much miss:
  • Even though it's been gone a long time, I will NOT miss the first trimester. I was a narcoleptic zombie during that time.
  • Frequent trips to the bathroom. Seriously, it's always an emergency, like, I need to get to the bathroom NOW!
  • Being able to do things in my classroom. I like to move a lot and I move fast, and in my classroom that's really changed. I can't get up on chairs, or get down on the floor, and sometimes this annoys me. Not too much though, we just have a lot of lessons at the kidney table.
  • Having to have a strategic plan to pick something off the floor, almost always requiring a student or my husband.
  • The general aches and pains. After a long day, my back always hurts and a new development this week: groin pain. Ouch.
  • The emotions. I know my poor husband will not miss this either. He has not pulled a Seth Rogen from "Knocked Up" yet (F*** you, hormones), so I should be thankful for that.
  • Weekly doctor's visits. I like these because they're good for me and my baby, but it stinks to sit in a doctor's waiting room every week.
There you have it. I will miss being pregnant, but I will be so happy for my baby to be here.

I LOVE it! Looking forward to feeling my baby move! Too cute that you would count his hiccups!
